Parenting Program
The Parenting Program supports vulnerable children, aged 0 to 12 years and their families. The focus is on the achievement of positive outcomes in child development, behaviour, safety, physical and emotional well-being, the child parent relationship and childcare competency.
This Service is offered in the Shellharbour local government area and provides:
- education program for first time parents
- peer support program for young parents based on improving confidence and social networks
- early intervention relationship program, Circle of Security, based on enhancing the attachment security between parents and their children
- home visiting and mentoring
- parenting skills education
- assessment
- information and referral
- liaison with other services
- advocacy
- case management
- practical assistance and support
