Parenting Program

The Parenting Program supports vulnerable children, aged 0 to 12 years and their families. The focus is on the achievement of positive outcomes in child development, behaviour, safety, physical and emotional well-being, the child parent relationship and childcare competency.

This Service is offered in the Shellharbour local government area and provides:

  • education program for first time parents
  • peer support program for young parents based on improving confidence and social networks
  • early intervention relationship program, Circle of Security, based on enhancing the attachment security between parents and their children
  • home visiting and mentoring
  • parenting skills education
  • assessment
  • information and referral
  • liaison with other services
  • advocacy
  • case management
  • practical assistance and support
