Out of Home Care Services
Out of Home Care (OoHC) Services (Permanency Support Program)
SYFS OoHC provide a continuum of placement and care options catering to young people 12 to 18 years with a range of support needs in the Illawarra, Shoalhaven and Southern Region.
The OoHC Services (Permanency Support Program) are made up of Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITCH), Therapeutic Supportive Independent Living (TSIL) and supportive Independent Living (SIL), Therapeutic Sibling Option Placement (TSOP), Therapeutic Home Based Care (THBC). These are explained below.
The Service also has additional support services in the Premiers Priority Youth Initiative and Specialists Intervention for Youth (SPIFY)

Intensive Therapeutic Care Homes (ITCH)
SYFS Intensive Therapeutic Care (ITC) program provides children and young people with safe and supportive accommodation in a home-like environment.

A placement option and supports for young people aged 16 – 17 years of age to successfully acquire living skills to transition to independent living, through the provision of accommodation, casework and structured and individualised life skills programs.

Premiers Priority Youth Initiative

Specialist Intervention For Youth - SPIFY
This Program targets vulnerable, disadvantaged and homeless young people aged 12-23 years and those at risk of disadvantage and homelessness. SPIFY provides support to workers in the field of early intervention and liaises between the Community Sector and South Eastern Sydney and Illawarra Area Health - Mental Health Service.
